You would seriously have to start wondering what the hell you were doing wrong? In the NT News today the front page covered a story about a young mum who lost her child, Briony Goodsell (11) to a saltwater croc attack at Black Water Swamp on the outskirts of Darwin 3 years ago.

This was a tragic event and your heart naturally goes out to all the family especially the young girls mother, Charlene O’Sullivan whose pain must have been immeasurable then and now.

However you do have to ask what is going on when her partner was almost taken by a 2.5m freshwater croc on their property this Friday just gone whilst fly fishing. Perhaps it is time to shift home???? or at the very least STOP HANGING AROUND THE WATER DURING WET SEASON!

Now I am the first to advocate shooting these things as they are reaching plague proportions and they are man eaters however I very rarely come across one in Darwin on the balcony of my 19th floor apartment. There are measured steps you can take to avoid being in danger and standing on a Croc Trap isn’t one of them?

Let’s face it an educated person wouldn’t go fishing on Corroboree Billabong from a boogie board with a wearing Ga Ga’s steak dress…..Would you???? To be honest it is a complete mystery why you would wear that regardless of the boogie board.
